Team Associated RC10 Ultra Rider: A Retro-Styled 1/10 2WD Buggy Kit
Team Associated has announced the RC10 Ultra Rider 2WD Kit (part number 6060), a 1/10 scale electric buggy kit that pairs a retro 80s theme with updated components. It is a kit, so it requires full assembly and several electronics purchases before it can run.
What's new
The Ultra Rider uses front and rear trailing arm suspension with forged aluminum arms and a redesigned front trailing arm kingpin. The chassis, nose plate and motor plate are an exclusive silver finish, and the kit adds molded rear bulkheads, a black molded front bumper and retro molded side guards.
It rides on exclusive silver 3-piece racing wheels, and the clear Protech body comes with cutout templates, a driver figure, lights and a scale window net. The body must be painted and finished by the builder.
Hardware
Power goes through a sealed 3-gear Stealth A.T.C. transmission with a high-torque ball differential and full ball bearings. Associated lists the internal gear ratio as 2.25:1. The kit has long-travel, fluid-filled, anodized aluminum coilover shocks, heavy-duty turnbuckles and ball studs, hardened rear driveshafts, CNC aluminum arm mounts, a carbon fiber front tower and fiberglass shock towers.
Listed dimensions are 381 mm long, 226.8 mm wide, with a 267.7 mm wheelbase. It accepts 6-cell NiMH or 2S LiPo packs.

Associated's page lists the kit at $349.99 (shown against a $529.99 MSRP) as a pre-order with the note "Shipping October". No year is given on the page. Big Squid RC lists a $349 street price. The listing appears to be for a limited run, but that is not stated, so check the store page before ordering.

Associated lists the following as not included: battery, motor, ESC, servo, charger, and a radio and receiver. Its recommended parts are the Zappers SG6 4800mAh 7.6V Shorty battery (#27604), Reedy Sonic 540-SP5 13.5T brushless motor (#27481), Blackbox 610R ESC (#27016), Reedy RS1606HD servo (#27171) and Reedy 1416-C2L charger (#27203).
