Absima Kinetic-9: A 1/9 Scale 4S Brushless Monster Truck
Absima has announced the Kinetic-9, a 1/9 scale 4WD brushless monster truck delivered fully assembled. The company quotes up to 85 km/h (about 52 mph) on 4S LiPo power.
What's new
The Kinetic-9 is built around a 3 mm T6061 aluminum chassis with integrated LED lighting. It uses a permanent 4WD layout with hardened steel driveshafts and metal differentials.
Hardware
Power comes from a 3674 brushless motor (2600KV) and a 130A ESC with an EC5 connector. Absima lists about 65 km/h on 3S and up to 85 km/h on 4S. Suspension is adjustable all-metal hydraulic shocks, and steering is a waterproof 15 kg metal-gear servo.
Tires are 128 x 70 mm, ground clearance is 75 mm and wheelbase is 330 mm. Overall size is 560 x 350 x 215 mm and weight is about 3.4 kg. Radio range is quoted at roughly 350 m.
Price and availability
Absima lists the truck at 399.95 EUR including VAT and excluding shipping. Big Squid RC converts that to about $450 USD, which depends on the exchange rate. The Absima store page showed the truck as currently not available, and Big Squid RC describes it as coming soon. No release date has been announced, and US availability was not confirmed.
What you'll need
The box includes the assembled truck, a 2.4 GHz 4-channel radio, a tool set, a sticker sheet and a manual. A 3S or 4S LiPo battery with an EC5 connector and a compatible charger are required and not included. Absima notes this is not a toy and is not suitable for children under 14 without adult supervision.
